FILMING for Kristen Stewart’s new thriller, Underwater, was so challenging that the actress revealed she “took Xanax and cried” to get through it.
The movie releases on Friday and finds strange creatures tormenting a research team, including Kristen’s character, stationed under the ocean.
The actress, 29, opened up about the “truly harrowing” filming experience with Entertainment Tonight, explaining that her claustrophobia is what made it so terrible.
She shared: “Some of the other actors really enjoyed going underwater, I did not. I think I took Xanax and cried on the days I had to actually go under the water.
Kristen added of shooting action movies in general: “They are just not fun to make. Theoretically, they are fun, you overcome fears and put yourself in the moment physically and really test yourself.
“But they hurt, they are super scary, they take forever, underwater everyone.”
The Twilight star said any day she had to wear one of the submersible suits was a hard day.
While she wasn’t too thrilled about her own movie-making, she told the outlet she’s extremely excited about her ex-boyfriend and fellow Twilight alum Robert Pattinson’s upcoming movie, The Batman.
When asked about her fans campaigning to have her plat Catwoman opposite Rob, 33 —a role which ultimately went to Zoë Kravitz —Kristen shared she though that “would be silly.”
She added: “That would’ve been a blast, but also I am, like, really good friends with Zoe. And obviously, I am so proud of Rob doing this whole [project].
“I can’t wait to see this movie. So, like, sure, that is a funny idea but the real version is going to be sick.”
