SHOTS were fired outside Taylor Swift’s $18million New York City townhouse during an armed robbery.
Cops are hunting the robbers who raided Patron of New York, a sneaker store next door to the popstar’s home in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan on Sunday.
It was the second shooting on the upscale block in less than a month, reports the New York Post.
Police have said four shots were fired at around 5pm on Sunday evening, but nobody was hurt.
Detectives have recovered shell casings from the scene as they are now hunting the robbers.
Three suspects fled the scene – two of which were wearing blue jeans and white T-shirts, with the other in blue jeans and a blue T-shirt.
A waiter at the nearby Tamarind Tribeca restaurant on Hudson Street said: “Suddenly we heard four shots and I was freaked out.
“I saw people at the scene run. They look scared and jumped into a car.”
It is unclear if Swift was home at the time of shootings, and The US Sun has contacted her reps for comment.
Another resident added: “It’s really concerning to see two gun-related crimes happen at the same place within a month.”
“It’s a family neighborhood, and I choose safety over access to fancy sneakers every time.”
Pictures from the scene show yellow police tape cordoning off the area following the shooting.
Several police cruisers can be seen parked up on the scene as NYPD officer investigate.
Tribeca, which is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in New York, has been hit hard in recent months by the pandemic and mass protests.
Shop owners had been forced to board up their stores as New York went into lockdown as he suffered in the first wave of the coronavirus.
And then looters ransacked shops in the area amid massive protests and unrest following the death of George Floyd in May.
Swift purchased the townhouse for $18million in 2017 and also owns through apartments next door.
She is understood to have spent a total of $47.7million buying property on the block.
The Grammy-winner converted two of the top floor units in a massive penthouse measuring 8,000 square feet.
Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson used to own the properties before they were sold to Swift for $19.95million in 2014.
Swift also purchased a 3,540 square foot apart in the complex 2018 from financier Jeremy Philips for $9.75million.
Her property portfolio in the area now covers a total of 18,653 square feet.
Other celebrities on the block have included comedian Aziz Ansari, Orlando Bloom and Steven Soderbergh.
In March last year, stalker Roger Alvarado, 23, was sentenced to up to four years in prison after he broke into one of Swift’s Tribeca homes.
