A MAN who allegedly tried to grope two young girls in separate Walmarts and is accused of threatening to rape one of them, has been charged.
Court documents say Ryan Daniel Reding, 28, tried to touch a little girl out separated from her mom in the Texas store and said he would sexually assault her, according to KPRC-TV.
Reding approached his young victim in the women’s clothing section on October 3, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Local reports described how the off-shore worker allegedly grabbed the terrified girl, aged 10 or 11, and said he would rape her before she broke free and ran to her mother.
Reding is now accused of attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child for previous incidents.
The brave little girl reportedly identified Reding from a photo line-up. But this wasn’t the first time Reding had allegedly tried to abuse a minor in a supermarket.
He was actually out of jail on bail at the time, after allegedly groping another child in the greeting card section at a different Walmart in Spring on August 14.
That same evening, he groped another schoolgirl in the stationary section of a different Walmart in The Woodlands, according to the sheriff’s office.
Reding was released on a $50,000 bail in early September for the indecency with a child charge, according to court documents.
He is currently being held at the Cameron County Jail, awaiting transport to the Montgomery County Jail.
An alert was circulated on August 15, asking people to identify Reding, and CCTV footage which showed him walking amongst other Walmart customers.
The US Coast Guard apprehended him while he was working off shore in Port Aransas, according to The Courier of Montgomery.
A statement from the sheriff’s office stated that Reding was arrested “through the diligent work of our detectives, and the overwhelming support of our community and media partners.”
