RAPPER Lil Reese is fighting for his life after being critically shot yesterday afternoon.
The 26-year-old – real name Tavares Taylor – was shot in his car at an intersection in Cook County, Illinois.
Cops arrived at the scene to find the vehicle covered with fresh blood – with witnesses reporting a man had taken the victim from the scene.
Officers found the dad-of-one being treated for a critical gun-shot wound to the neck at South Suburban Hospital’s emergency room in Hazel Crest.
No arrests have yet been made but police are currently pursuing an investigation.
As news of the incident broke last night, “Lil Reese” began trending on Twitter as devastated fans expressed their horror.
One user wrote: “Cmon man, not Lil Reese,” with another adding: “I thought the #rapwars were over.”
One devastated fan Tweeted: “Come on Lil Reese… not like this dog pull through.”
The rapper has collaborated with the likes of Chief Keef and Waka Floka Flame, with one of his hits being remixed by Rick Ross and Drake.
