JESSICA Simpson’s husband, Eric Johnson, had a friendly day out with family photographer Kristin Burns during a beach stroll, as the singer skipped the outing.
In photos exclusively obtained by The Sun, Eric, 41, could be seen walking on the beach in Malibu with Kristin, who is the family’s photographer, on June 4.
The former American football player wore a gray shirt with matching pants for the outing, as he topped off the casual look with sunglasses and a cap.
Kristin dressed in a burgundy top, jean shorts, black hat and sunglasses for the walk along the Malibu waterfront. At one point, the two cooled off by dipping their feet in the water.
An eyewitness told The Sun: “They put their feet in the water and at one point they gave each other a high-five.
“I thought it was Jessica, but then when she turned around it clearly wasn’t.”
Jessica, 40, who married Eric in 2014, and their three children Maxwell, nine, Ace, seven, and two-year-old Birdie were not present for the beach trip.
Kristin confirmed to The Sun that she went on the beach trip with Eric.
Reps for Jessica and Eric did not respond to The Sun’s request for comment.
Kristin has been a longtime photographer of the family, as her celebrity clientele also includes Jessica’s sister Ashlee and actress Alicia Silverstone.
Jessica recently tagged Kristin in photos from daughter Birdie’s second birthday in March.
Many of Kristin’s photos of Jessica are used for her clothing line Jessica Simpson Collection.
Kristin’s website bio reads: “Known for her kicks portraiture, and down-n-dirty styling, she has shot and toured with Placebo, Soulja Boy, Rob Zombie, Dave Stewart, Stevie Nicks, Mick Jagger, Duran Duran, Brian Wilson, Jessica Simpson, the Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Linda Perry, and lots, lots more.
“Burns shoots campaigns for Weight Watchers, JESSICA SIMPSON, as well as corporate and advertising clients that include Netflix, Nike, MSN, Universal, Guitar Hero, AOL Music, Sony BMG, LA Marathon, Vidal Sassoon, Geffen Records, Virgin Records, and Warner Brothers Records.
“Her photographs have appeared in Urb, Teen, Anthem, Filter, Swindle, Rolling Stone, Marie Claire, Women’s Wear Daily, and Italian Vogue.”
Last year, Jessica made the headlines when she released her memoir, Open Book.
She shared some shocking revelations including the sexual abuse that she suffered as a young girl.
Jessica claimed in the book that the daughter of a family friend, who was one year older than her, sexually abused her between the ages of six to 12.
In the book, Jessica wrote that the abuse began at the family friend’s house when she was six and sharing a bed with the family’s daughter.
After years of turning to drugs and alcohol, Jessica overcame her dark past and eventually confronted her abuser.
Knowing that the woman who abused her was simultaneously being abused by an older man in the same house, Jessica wrote that she told her abuser that she understood she had “a lot to deal with” and encouraged her to talk to someone so she can “heal from those moments.”
Jessica added: “In so many ways, I felt bad for her, and I was allowing the abuse to happen.”
She doesn’t remember exactly what motivated her to confront her abuser, but she does remember that it was after her divorce from Nick Lachey during a time of deep “soul searching.”
In her book, Jessica elaborated: “I was just in that place where I was celibate and I was on this journey to explore myself and I knew that I couldn’t move forward without letting her know that I wasn’t going to just leave it unsaid.
“I left it unsaid for far too long, but I knew that if I was honest with her, it would clear my conscience, and I even sent her the book and I told her that I hope it brings healing.”
Jessica admitted the abuse to her parents when she was 12 years old.
They never went back to that family friend’s home, but also didn’t talk about it again.
