THIS is the horrifying moment a hairdresser was left paralysed for life after a freak accident on a trampoline.
Matthew Gaynon, 29, has been told he will never walk again following a day out with a pal and her son.
A terrifying clip shows the moment Matthew tries to do a backflip – but he lands on his head between the safety padding and the trampoline net.
He damaged his spinal cord during the horror fall, and is now paralysed from the chest down.
Devastated Matthew said: “A random little trip that was meant to be fun has changed my life forever.
“When they told me that I would never walk again I just broke down.
“I knew something wasn’t right the moment I hit my head.

“I was laid on the trampoline and I just couldn’t move anything but my arms. It was terrifying.”
Matthew was rushed to Salford Royal Infirmary where he had nine hour surgery to stabilise his arms, chest and back – but was told he would never walk again.
After two weeks he was transferred to Southport Hospital spinal injuries unit where he has started intensive physiotherapy and hopes to be discharged by Christmas.
Matthew, from Manchester, said he had never been trampolining before, and had joined a pal and her son for the day out at the last minute.
He added: “I never in my life imagined I would be leaving in an ambulance.
“I tried to do a flip and ended up landing on my head where the springs were.
“I just didn’t know where my body was and my arms were tingling.
“My friend was filming it and laughing because she didn’t realise I’d hurt myself, but when I told her I couldn’t move she called an ambulance.”
Matthew was left heartbroken after doctors told him he was paralysed – and says he didn’t want to speak to anyone for weeks.
He added: “I don’t think I will ever get my head round what has happened to me but I’ve got to keep pushing myself on and get as much of my independence back as possible.”
Desperate to give him something he can look forward to, Matthew’s friends and family have now launched a GoFundMe to raise £20,000 for a specialist wheelchair which will allow him to stand up and cut hair again.
