Ex-soldier, 45, dubbed the ‘naked carpenter’ jailed after he was caught flashing for the twelfth time – The US Sun

AN EX-soldier dubbed “the naked carpenter” has been jailed after he was caught flashing in public for the twelfth time.

Robert Jenner, 45, was jailed after he wore see-through trousers whilst walking back from the pub through a town centre in January.

Serial flasher Robert laughed and told police he was “Mr Inappropriate” when officers caught him strolling wearing see-through trousers without any underwear.

The ex-soldier – who claims to be a naturist – was yesterday sentenced to a year in prison for breaching a criminal behaviour order, indecent exposure and malicious communication.

He was convicted of the offences following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court last month.

It is not Jenner’s first run-in with the law.

In March last year, he was handed a two-year jail term after being convicted of eleven charges of indecent exposure – committed while delivering parcels to shocked residents in a pair of jeans with a hole cut in the crotch.

Prosecutor Daniel Stevenson revealed yesterday that, shortly after being released from custody, Jenner sent a friend request to a woman who had provided police with a statement after she spotted him out running in nothing but trainers.

Having tracked her down online, Jenner said: “You might want to come clean or I will sue.”

The messages left the woman “concerned and anxious” he would turn up at her home, the court heard.

On 20 January, at around 11.30 pm, police officers discovered Jenner – a former Hermes delivery driver – walking through Maidstone wearing see-through trousers, his manhood clearly visible.

He had been boozing at a Wetherspoons in the town.

Mr Stevenson said: “The defendant was laughing, he called himself ‘Mr Inappropriate’.

“Officers asked if he was wearing anything under his trousers, and he said socks.”

By exposing himself in public, Jenner had breached a criminal behaviour order and community protection.
The ex-carpenter, who was also out on licence, “continues to show no regard to court orders or the public,” the prosecutor added.

Defending, John Fitzgerald said Jenner, now of no fixed address, claims he had been wearing a fleece to hide his manhood, but because he had been drinking he was not in control of what was being covered – and what was not.

Mr Fitzgerald added that no members of the public had complained about Jenner’s behaviour that evening and that the severity and the maliciousness of communication previously sent to the woman was low.

He added that Jenner had “fallen far” since his years serving in the Prince of Wales Regiment.
However, Judge Julian Smith said: “He was still in the centre of Maidstone, drinking, in those see-through trousers… officers could see his bottom as they drove past.”

Judge Smith described Jenner’s actions on January 20 as a “calculated and deliberate” and said he showed a “flagrant” disregard for the court order.

He warned that similar behaviour would result in lengthier prison sentences, adding: “That will be a poor use of time for anybody.”

Jenner was given a restraining order against the woman who he sent a message to, lasting five years.

He was handed two months in prison for malicious communication, twelve months for breaching a court order and four months for indecent exposure – running concurrently.
