A MAN who was rescued by Ellie Goulding after his car was “snow ploughed” by a Royal Mail truck is a YouTube star, it has emerged today.
Jack Joy, who works on hit YouTube channel Car Throttle, was “t-boned” in a dramatic lorry crash on the A40 near Perivale, North-West London on Monday morning.
Drivers screamed and blasted their horns at the hapless Royal Mail driver as he forced the Volkswagen hundreds of yards down the dual carriageway.
Motorists including singer Ellie Goulding rushed over to the crash after the lorry eventually came to a stop – checking on Jack to make sure he was OK.
Alex Kersten, head of video at Car Throttle, confirmed on Twitter last night: “To everyone asking, yes, this is Jack from Car Throttle.
“Jack minding his own business in the slow lane, lorry driver failed to look properly when changing lanes, jack-knifing Jack’s GTi and pushing him 0.5 miles down the road. Jack is shaken but ok.”
He added on Instagram: “Jack’s Golf GTI is almost certainly a write off – shame after having spent £300 last week getting the car tip top”.

GOULDING ON THE SCENE
Following the incident Goulding shared images on Instagram and wrote: “I’m the one in the car checking if this guy was OK – craziest thing I’ve ever seen on the road.
“Everyone was driving past but my driver Guy stopped. Driver safe and look out for others everyone!!”
The Starry Eyed singer later added: “On a side note, I can’t believe the first instinct of the other drivers who got out was to instantly start filming on their phones and shout abuse at the poor shocked driver, not even checking the other driver was OK.”
In the footage, loud screeching can be heard from the Volkswagen GTI in footage filmed by a passing motorist.
After the truck finally stops, one driver can be heard shouting: “What the f*** are you doing man?”
The truck driver then looks out of his window and sees the stranded car on his bonnet and throws his hands in the air with disbelief.
The entire carriageway came to a halt.
TfL later reporting a traffic jam where it happened close to the Hanger Lane roundabout.
A Royal Mail spokesman told The Sun Online: “We are very concerned about this incident. We sincerely hope that no one was hurt. We are investigating as a matter of urgency.”
Met Police said officers on a routine patrol had attended the incident, saying: “Officers spoke with both parties. No arrests were made.”
