Guest and host discuss key findings presented by Tel Aviv Professor of history Shlomo Sand in his scholarly best-selling book, The Invention of the Jewish People.

At the onset, “Are modern Palestinians the rightful descendants of ancient Jews?”

If so and it appears likely, anti-Semitism has been widely misapplied.

Then the question is raised “Was the Roman Expulsion of Jews from Palestine, circa 70 AD, imagined myth-history?”

The evidence presented by Professor Sand indicates no monumental and unprecedented expulsion of Jews but their eventual conversion to Christianity, Paganism, Hellenic Philosophies, and - last but not least - Islam.

With no “chosen lineage” back to King David and no “right-of-return”, Professor Sand brings forth the BIG question “Who are the so-called Jews occupying Palestine today?”

Although controversial, the majority of Jews today may trace to Turkic-Slav “late converts” to Judaism.

Simply, so many popular myths about Jewish history – including the Exodus from Egypt or the Crumbling Walls of Jericho - remain unsupported according to Professor Shlomo Sand.

Guest Dr. Ibrahim Soudy and host Bill Alford explore reasons The Invention of the Jewish People enraged Zionists yet engaged the reading populace.
