REMINDER: Time Slot Renewal Process Starts MONDAY, FEB 8!

Printer-friendly version

The annual Time Slot Renewal process at Seattle Community Media begins today, the day of this posting, Monday, February 8, 2016.

Once you have reported back to us which of your time slots will be your Guaranteed Time Slot, you will be able to schedule into that time slot in March.

Next week (8AM Monday, Feb 15 - 8AM Friday, Feb 19) you will be able to reference a document showing all of the Guaranteed Time Slots that have been chosen.  You can then choose two repeat time slots.  These will be handed out on a first come, first served basis.  We have these directions to ensure everyone has an equal chance at getting the time slots they want. We will not consider those requests coming in prior to 8AM, Monday, Feb 15 until after all of those who followed directions are taken care of.

A couple things to keep in mind about the repeat time slots.  We want everyone to have access to "good" time slots.  We have broken the 24-hours of each day into three blocks of time, Overnight (midnight to 8am), Daytime (8am to 4pm) and Primetime (4pm to midnight).  To ensure a better chance that all producers (new and long time) have access to "good" time slots, between your Guaranteed Time Slot and two repeats, you must have one of those time slots in each time block.

There are some exceptions.  One of those exceptions is for producers who create Mature programming, All of their programming must broadcast between 10pm and 6am. They are not able to broadcast in the Daytime time block.

If you want to change your Guaranteed Time Slot, you have the opportunity to change to an open time slot at this point in time.  Again, time slots are handed out on a first come, first serve basis.  If you make the request to move to another time slot and, by the time you've made the request the new time slot was already taken by another producer, you will NOT lose the time slot you already had.  We will notify you that we could not fill the request.  You can then make another request.

Producers who do not participate in the renewal process for repeats, we will NOT choose repeat time slots for you.  While we did chose a Guaranteed Time Slot for you from among the slots you had, you will need to contact us in order to get repeats.

Again, the time slot renewal only applies to producers who already have a guaranteed time slot.  It does not apply to new producers who do not yet have a guaranteed time slot.

For more information, Member Producers can click on the red "Time Slot Renewal Information" box that appears in the upper right-hand corner of the web page once they've signed in.
